    And then just when you think you’ve got it straight in your head, you go to a non-EU country and convert your Euros to that currency…math was never my thing, as evidenced by the fact that according to my calculations, that postcard in Dubrovnik cost almost $1,000. Sigh. 😉

      Fortunately I am traveling to Euro Zone countries only. People have told me that I should bring Euros with me, $1000 worth, that not everyone accepts credit cards. What is your experience?

        That’s usually how much I bring. I figure in an emergency I could use my credit cards at a bank for extra cash. I usually don’t use credit cards for small purchases because I get hit with an exchange rate and a service fee. I suppose you can find banks that won’t charge fees, but I’ve never taken the time to do it.
