This Is A Test!

26 May

Spring obligations are almost over. When my third and final studio recital is complete this Thursday, I will start checking off all of the things that must be done, items that must be acquired, bills that must be paid before I board that plane in June flying over the ocean to Zurich, Switzerland.
Today I visited the Apple Store to get some one to one assistance on my ipad. I am used to using iphoto on my MacBook Pro to import photos to my wordpress blog. There is no iphoto app on my ipad. There is a photo app but I have not yet used it to send photos to my blog. There has to be a first time. Today I took a couple of photos at the Apple Store. I am going to attempt to retrieve them and post them on “Rosemarie in Europe 2013” using my ipad. If you read this post and it includes two photos, you will know that I was successful.

Well, that took forever and the process was totally frustrating. My work kept disappearing. The photos kept disappearing. I’m going to bed. I hope this post is still here in the morning and doesn’t disappear overnight.

Way to go! You did it:)

It took forever with many glitches.

Good job though! I got my first iPad today and am planning to try to figure out how to import pictures to WordPress tomorrow before I start my busy season traveling for work next week. Wish me luck!

I do indeed wish you luck. Some parts of the process are so incredibly easy and others…..

I usually just email the pictures from my iPad or iPhone to my computer, then save them to a folder. Did you find a better way? Perhaps a new blog entry! 🙂

I took the photos with my point and shoot, then pulled out the SIM card, stuck it into the SIM card reader with an attachment to the ipad. The photos went into the ipad’s photo app and I then picked them up from there to insert into a post. It took a long time, maybe because it was my first time, but the photos kept disappearing from the post and I would have to add them again. When you insert the photos in the post, you cannot see them. All you see is several lines of computer lingo. You don’t actually see the photos until you press “Publish.” I’ll have to do several more tests before I feel competent in using the wordpress app.

I’m looking at purchasing an iPad before my trip so that I can continue with my blog. Let me know what to look for. I was told that I had to purchase the iPad with Wifi + Cellular capabilities, which is $130.00 more.

    • Rosemarie May 26, 2013 at 12:22 pm #

I did not get the ipad with wifi and cellular, which means that I can only get online at wifi hotspots in hotels or wifi cafes. All the hotels where I am staying offer wifi, but I will definitely be limited in the amount of time I have online. I am already spending so much, I did not want to pay the extra amount, mainly the cellular charges.

You did something right. I could read it with no problems.

    • Rosemarie May 26, 2013 at 2:09 pm #

Thanks, John. I hope your summer is going well.

Photos look great. I know how frustrating this must be. I tried to load photos for my blog straight from my iPhone photos to WordPress on the iPhone, and had a very difficult time. This was awhile back, but I should try it again now. I hate lugging my laptop on all of my trips.

    • Rosemarie May 26, 2013 at 6:31 pm #

I am going to try it again today. I just got back from another two hour hike with photos.

Congratulations–one more thing settled. I’m sure that you enjoy checking each pre-adventure item off the list. Happy rest of weekend.

    • Rosemarie May 26, 2013 at 6:33 pm #

Not sure that it is settled. I will have to practice a lot more to see if I can get the bugs worked out of the process.
